In my opinion, Northern Exposure was one of the best television shows in history, and by far the best of the 1990s. The show aired for 6 seasons, from the summer of 1990 to the summer of 1995, with a total of 110 episodes.

Filmed in the wilds of Washington state, the show dealt with the lives of the quirky townspeople of fictional Cicely, Alaska. The main characters were Dr.Joel Fleishman (Rob Morrow), bush pilot Maggie O'Connell (Janine Turner), entrepreneur Maurice Minnifield (Barry Corbin), bar owner Holling Vincouer (John Cullum), radio host and town philosopher Chris Stevens (John Corbett), bar co-owner/hostess Shelly Tambo (Cynthia Geary), film maker & shaman Ed Chigliak (Darren E.Burrows), clinic assistant Marilyn Whirlwind (Elaine Miles), and general store owner Ruth Anne Miller (Peg Phillips).

Not only were the episodes well-written and excellently portrayed by the cast, but the scenery of the 'Alaska' wilderness was breathtaking.
